This tour is a journey where you will discover amazing places, with strong medieval cities and small villages in retreat. At noon we will leave from Cluj to Sibiu, a town where we will discover the three main markets with patrician palaces, guild residences, and craftsmen’s workshops, and we will have accommodation and dinner in the city.
On the second day, we will leave Sibiu and go to Hârtibaciului Valley, a picturesque region, where we will visit a typical Transylvanian village and a museum dedicated to multiculturalism. We will continue our journey to the village of Biertan, which was of particular importance in the medieval era due to the residence of the Lutheran bishop. The largest fortified church in Transylvania was built here, and today is a UNESCO monument. In the afternoon, we will head to Viscri, a village known for the way the culture was preserved here. Both the church in the village of Viscri and the village itself are under the patronage of UNESCO, so it is worth a visit. In the evening, we will sleep in an old, medieval house, which has been restored and where we will be spoiled with delicious traditional dishes.
On the third day, we will start with a special breakfast, after which we will go to the medieval city of Sighisoara, where we will visit the Clock Tower, the former Benedictine monastery, the Lutheran Church, the narrow streets of the city and the supposed place of Dracula’s birth. Leaving Sighișoara, we will head towards Mălâncrav, a village very similar to Viscri. We will then travel to Mediaș, a small but important city from Transylvania, where we will visit the fortress and the Gothic church, and in the evening, we will return to Cluj.
